Artist Statement
Hi, I’m Nur, and I’m a visual artist passionate about creating Traditional Turkish art. For me, art is more than just colors and shapes—it’s a way of expressing my love for tradition, culture, and spirituality.
Marbling is like magic to me. I love playing with colors on water, watching them swirl and dance into intricate patterns. Each ebru monoprint is a unique blend of colors, like a window into a dreamy, colorful world.
With illumination, I get to add a touch of elegance to my art. Using delicate brushstrokes and shiny gold leaf, I create beautiful patterns and designs that light up the page. It’s like bringing a touch of luxury to every piece.
Arabic calligraphy is like poetry in motion. With every stroke of the pen, I express meaningful words and phrases in a beautiful script. It’s a way for me to connect with the rich heritage and spiritual depth of Muslim culture.
